Dorothée Lorang is a French director, scriptwriter, and producer who has been successful in both French and international film and television. She has worked on numerous award-winning projects and has been recognized for her innovative and groundbreaking work.
Born in Marseille, France, in 1967, Lorang grew up in a creative and nurturing environment. She began her career in the early 1990s, writing a script for the French TV series Mais où est donc passé le septième d’Auvergne? (Where Is the Seventh of Auvergne?), which won the Prix de la Jeunesse from the French Ministry of Culture.
In the late 1990s, Lorang made her feature film debut with the acclaimed drama Hors saison (Off-Season). The film was well-received, receiving numerous awards and nominations. Following this success, she wrote and directed the thriller La mémoire des anges (Memory of Angels), which won several awards at the Berlin Film Festival.
In 2002, Lorang wrote and directed her most critically acclaimed film to date, Les innocents (The Innocents). The film was a huge success, and won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival.
In the following years, Lorang worked on numerous projects, both in France and abroad. She directed the award-winning film Un long voyage (A Long Voyage), which was nominated for several awards, including a Cesar award.
In 2015, she wrote and directed the acclaimed drama Au-dessus des nuages (Above the Clouds). The film was shown at numerous festivals, including the Cannes Film Festival, and won the award for Best Actress.
Most recently, Lorang has been working on the television series Les vies secrètes des femmes (The Secret Lives of Women). The series has been well-received, and has earned Lorang much praise for her work.
