Don DeLillo is an American novelist and playwright, born on November 20th, 1936 in the Bronx, New York. His parents, Italian immigrants, raised him in an Italian-American family. DeLillo attended Fordham University and then worked as an advertising copywriter for many years before dedicating himself to his writing.

DeLillo's first novel, End Zone, was published in 1972 and received largely positive reviews. He gained prominence with his second novel, White Noise, which won the National Book Award in 1985. His other novels include Libra, Underworld, Mao II, and Falling Man. DeLillo’s novels are known for their sharp satirical commentary on contemporary culture and their exploration of themes such as consumerism, terrorism, and politics. In addition to his novels, DeLillo has written several plays, and his works have been adapted into films and television shows.
