Dick Tufeld (1926–2012) was an American actor, disc jockey, and game show announcer who was best known for his work in television.

Born Richard Lewis Tufeld on December 22, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois, he was raised in Los Angeles, California. He went on to attend the University of Southern California where he studied broadcasting.

Tufeld began his career as a disc jockey, working at KFWB and KHJ in Los Angeles. He eventually became the announcer for a variety of TV game shows, including “Tic Tac Dough” and “Jeopardy!”. He was also the announcer for the classic science fiction series “Lost in Space” and the voice of the robot on the show.

Tufeld also appeared in small roles in various television series, such as “The Adventures of Superman” and “The Monkees”. He appeared in two episodes of “The Twilight Zone” in 1960 and 1961. He also had roles in films such as “The Facts of Life” (1960) and “The Nutty Professor” (1963).

In addition to his on-screen work, Tufeld was an active member of the Screen Actors Guild. He was also a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, and the National Radio Announcers Association.

Tufeld was married three times and had two children. He passed away on January 22, 2012 in Studio City, California at the age of 85. He will always be remembered for his distinctive voice and his many contributions to television and film.
