Angelo

Diamond D'Angelo is an American actor, producer, and director best known for his starring roles in the hit films Boyz n the Hood and Harlem Nights. He was born in Los Angeles, California on June 17, 1958. He was raised in a loving home by his mother, a single mother who worked hard to provide for her children.

Diamond's acting career began in the early 1980s. He made his film debut in the 1985 drama, The Boys of Summer. He soon followed with roles in films such as the drama, The Color Purple and the comedy, Harlem Nights. He also appeared in the cult classic horror film, The People Under the Stairs.

In 1991, Diamond won critical acclaim for his role as Doughboy in the groundbreaking drama, Boyz n the Hood. His performance earned him an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture. He continued to appear in other Hollywood films such as Menace II Society, The Assassination of Richard Nixon, and Training Day.

In addition to his acting work, Diamond has also produced and directed several independent films. He directed and produced the 2006 drama, Naked in the Streets. He also wrote, directed, and produced the 2010 drama, In the Dark.

When he isn't working on film projects, Diamond devotes much of his time to social activism. He is a vocal advocate of the rights of African Americans and has spoken out on numerous issues such as racial profiling, police brutality, and poverty.

Diamond is married to singer and actress, Yolanda Williams. They have two children, Destiny and Donny.
