Dawn Ades is a British actress, best known for her roles in the British television series “EastEnders”, “The Bill”, “The Bill: Unofficial Business”, “Bad Girls”, and “Doctors”. Born in October 1969 in London, England, Ades was raised in East London and later studied drama and television at the Central School of Speech and Drama.

Ades began her acting career in the late 1980s with a number of small roles in British TV series such as “The Bill”, “Grange Hill”, “London’s Burning” and “Casualty”. She made her debut in the long-running BBC soap opera “EastEnders” in 1996, playing the role of Nurse Leanne Wilson for three years.

In 1998, Ades appeared in the British crime drama “The Bill: Unofficial Business” as DI Gemma Hallam, and in 1999 she appeared in the ITV drama “Bad Girls” as prison officer Mandy Smith. She continued to appear in a variety of British TV series, including “Heartbeat”, “The Royal”, “Holby City”, “Doctors”, and “Spooks”.

Ades has also appeared in several stage productions, including “The Threepenny Opera” and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the National Theatre, and “The Merchant of Venice” at the Royal Exchange in Manchester. She also appeared in the BBC Radio 4 drama “The New Adventures of Superman” in 2011.

Ades’s film credits include supporting roles in “The 51st State” (2001), “The Hole” (2001), “Forget Me Not” (2009), and “The Man Inside” (2012). She has also appeared in a number of short films, including “The Missing” (2010) and “Kissing Cousins” (2011).

Ades has been commended for her work in the industry, winning Best Supporting Actress at the British Soap Awards in 1995 and Best Actress at the British Television Drama Awards in 1998. She has also been nominated for Best Actress at the South Bank Show Awards in 1999.
