BIO

David Moriarty is an Irish actor best known for his roles in films, television and theater. Born in Dublin in 1980, David began his career at the tender age of 15, appearing in several Irish television shows. His first big break came in 2004, when he was cast as the lead in the feature film “The Boys from County Clare”. The movie was a great success, and earned him a nomination for an Irish Film and Television Award.

In 2006, David starred in the critically acclaimed Irish television drama “Love/Hate”. His performance earned him another Irish Film and Television Award nomination, this time for Best Actor. He also appeared in “The Tudors”, “The Clinic”, “Raw”, “The Fall” and “Line of Duty”, as well as in feature films such as “Calvary” and “The Guard”.

As a stage actor, David has appeared in productions of “The Crucible”, “The Cherry Orchard” and “The Cripple of Inishmaan”, among others. In 2017, he starred in the critically acclaimed production of “The Plough and the Stars” at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin.

David has also acted in a number of short films, including “The Year After”, which won the Best Short Film award at the Galway International Film Festival in 2014. His other short films have won awards at the Belfast Film Festival, the Kerry Film Festival, and the Dublin International Film Festival.

David is a passionate advocate for the arts and is particularly interested in the development of new Irish talent. He has been a mentor for young actors in the Irish film industry and is an ambassador for the Irish Film Board.
