David McConnell is an American television and film director. He has directed a number of television series, including the critically acclaimed hit show, Breaking Bad. He was born in 1968 in Los Angeles, California, and studied at the University of Southern California.

McConnell began his directing career in the late 1990s, working as an assistant director for a number of television series. He then went on to direct his first feature film, The Perfect Score, in 2004. The movie was a moderate success and earned him an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best First Feature.
