David Fraser is a British actor best known for his roles in the crime drama series The Bill, and the British sitcoms Gimme Gimme Gimme and Black Books. He was born on June 8, 1964 in Cambridge, England.
Fraser initially trained to be an actor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and after graduation he performed in various theater productions. One of his first roles was in the BBC drama series, The Bill, where he played the character of PC Nick Klein.
In 1999, he made his major breakthrough as the bumbling, loveable Tom Farrell in the hit British sitcom Gimme Gimme Gimme. He starred in the show for three seasons, from 1999 to 2001. He then followed this up with a starring role in the popular BBC comedy Black Books, where he played the role of Manny Bianco.
In 2007, Fraser appeared in the fourth season of the popular British television series Doctor Who, playing the character of Clive Jones in the episode "The Unicorn and the Wasp". He went on to appear in other television series such as Hotel Babylon and the BBC medical drama Casualty.
In addition to his television work, Fraser has also appeared in a number of films. These include the thriller The Descent, the horror comedy Severance, and the romantic drama Love Actually. He has also appeared in the films The Bank Job and The Boat That Rocked.
Fraser is an accomplished stage actor, having appeared in a number of productions at the Royal National Theatre. He has also performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal Court Theatre.
Fraser is married to actress and voice-over artist Jules de Jongh. Together they have two children.
In his spare time, Fraser enjoys playing golf and cricket. He is also a keen supporter of his local football team, Cambridge United.
