David Foster

David Foster is a Grammy Award-winning Canadian musician, composer, arranger, producer, and songwriter. He has produced and written songs for some of the most successful artists in the world, including Barbra Streisand, Michael Bublé, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, and Andrea Bocelli, among many others.

Foster was born in Victoria, British Columbia on November 1, 1949. He started playing the piano at a young age and, by the time he was 13, he had already written and recorded his first single. This led to a recording contract with MCA Records in 1970, and he went on to form the band Skylark in 1972, which produced the hit song “Wildflower”.

Foster's career in the music industry took off in the late 1970s when he began producing albums for various artists. He has produced over 40 gold and platinum albums and earned 16 Grammy Awards. In addition, he has earned three Oscar nominations for his soundtrack work.

In the 1990s, Foster's work became more focused on producing and arranging songs for major artists. He produced successful albums for Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, and Andrea Bocelli, among others. He also wrote the hit single “The Power of Love” for Celine Dion.

In addition to his work in the music industry, Foster has also composed several film soundtracks, including St. Elmo's Fire (1985), The Bodyguard (1992), and The Snowman (1995). He also served as executive producer for the hit television show The Voice and was the executive music producer for the 2016 animated movie Sing.

Foster has received numerous awards and accolades, including being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, and receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He also received a Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in Canada for lifetime achievement.

Foster continues to be a highly sought after producer, arranger, and songwriter in the music industry. He is also involved in several charitable causes and is a dedicated advocate for music education. He is married to former Real Housewife of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Hadid, and they have four children.
