Darren Fox is a Canadian actor who has made a name for himself in both television and film. He is best known for his role as Dave Turner in the hit Canadian teen comedy, Degrassi: The Next Generation.
Fox was born in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1984. He began acting at the age of nine, appearing in various television commercials and minor roles in television series. By the time he was thirteen, he had landed his first major role in a feature film, playing the role of Tony in the cult classic Last Wedding.
Fox then went on to star in two other feature films, playing the lead in both. The first was a horror film titled Rituals, in which he played the role of a college student caught in a struggle with a vengeful spirit. The second was a drama titled Heavens Fire, in which he played the lead role of a young man struggling to save his family from a mysterious force.
In 2003, Fox joined the cast of Degrassi: The Next Generation, playing Dave Turner, a popular student at Degrassi Community School. During his four-year stint on the show, he won a Gemini Award for Best Performance in a Children's or Youth Program or Series.
After Degrassi, Fox went on to star in several other television shows, such as The Eleventh Hour, Intelligence, and Lost Girl. He also made guest appearances on numerous other series, including Flashpoint, The Listener, and Private Eyes.
In recent years, Fox has also appeared in several feature films, including the comedy Get a Job, the drama The Lost Boys, and the horror film The Void. He is currently filming the crime drama film, The Samaritan, in which he plays the lead role.
Fox is an active member of the Canadian acting community, and he is involved in numerous philanthropic activities. He is a long-time supporter of the Toronto International Film Festival, and he is a spokesperson for the charity organization Free the Children.
Fox currently resides in Toronto, Ontario, with his wife and two children. He is an avid outdoorsman and loves to go camping and hiking in Canada's beautiful wilderness.
