Daniel Wilner is an American film director, writer, producer, and editor. He was born in Los Angeles, California in 1981 and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. He attended the University of Southern California, where he majored in film production and minored in political science. After graduating from USC, Wilner moved to New York City to pursue his career in the film industry.

Wilner’s first foray into directing came in 2007 when he directed the short film “Superheroes Anonymous” which was featured in the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival. He then went on to direct, write, and produce the feature film “The Life and Times of a Teenage Rockstar”, which was released in 2009. The film was well received and earned Wilner the 2010 Independent Spirit John Cassavetes Award.

In 2010, Wilner wrote, produced, and directed the feature film “The Future” which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and was released in theaters in 2011. The film received critical acclaim and was nominated for several awards, including the Grand Jury Prize at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.

Since then, Wilner has gone on to direct several more feature films, including “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete”, “The Good Life”, and “Wanderlust”. He has also directed several television series, such as “The League”, “The Mindy Project”, and “Baskets”.

Wilner is known for his ability to tell stories in a unique and compelling way, combining his love of comedy and drama to create entertaining and thought-provoking films. He is also highly regarded for his work as a director of television, creating visually stunning and emotionally powerful episodes.

Wilner is currently working on several projects, including the feature film “Kiss Me Deadly” which he is directing, writing, and producing. He is also in pre-production on his next feature film, “Lonely Hearts”.
