Born in 1975 in Los Angeles, California, Dan Peters was raised in a close-knit family. His father was a film editor and his mother was a casting director, which exposed him to the entertainment industry from a young age. After graduating high school, Dan made his acting debut in the television series, Law & Order in 1997.

After appearing in several other television shows, Dan's big break came in 2006, when he was cast as a supporting character in Martin Scorsese's The Departed. His performance earned him critical acclaim and launched his career as a film actor.
