BIO

Dan Child is an American film and television director. He was born in Los Angeles, California on April 24, 1970. He was raised in the San Fernando Valley and has been interested in film and television since his early childhood.

He attended college at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Film & Television Production. After graduating, he pursued a career in television directing. He has worked on several series including the Emmy-winning show Scrubs, which he directed for seven seasons. He also directed episodes of the popular sitcoms The Middle, The Goldbergs, and Black-ish.

Dan's feature film directing debut came in 2019 with The In-Between, a psychological thriller starring Justin Chatwin. The film was praised for its psychological depth and won awards at several film festivals, including Best Feature Film at the 2019 Seattle International Film Festival.

In addition to his work in television and feature films, Dan has directed several music videos. Most notably, he directed the music video for the song "The Other Side" by the band Of Monsters and Men. The video was nominated for a Music Video Production Association Award in 2014.

Dan is known for his visual style, which he describes as "a mix of realism and surrealism." He often uses stark lighting and surreal imagery to create an atmosphere of suspense and tension. His films also contain elements of magical realism, which adds further intrigue and mystery.
