Dan Barker is an American actor and comedian best known for his work on the sitcoms Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm. He was born Daniel Andrew Barker in Madison, Wisconsin on June 25, 1964.

Barker began his career in New York City in the late 1980s, performing at the world-famous Improv and Comedy Cellar. He quickly became a regular at the clubs, and soon began appearing in television programs such as Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Chris Rock Show.

In the mid-90s, Barker made his first major breakthrough when he was cast as one of the main characters on Seinfeld. He played the role of George Costanza's best friend, Dave "Elaine" Murphy, and was featured in several episodes over the course of the show's nine-year run.

Barker followed up his role on Seinfeld by appearing in a number of other TV shows, including The Drew Carey Show, King of the Hill, and The Bernie Mac Show. He also worked as a writer and producer on the show Curb Your Enthusiasm, where he played the recurring role of Larry David's colleague and friend, Peter.

In addition to his work in television, Barker has made several feature film appearances, most notably in the films Old School, Without a Paddle, and The Hangover. He has also appeared in several commercials, including ones for Budweiser, Burger King, and Old Spice.

In recent years, Barker has become increasingly involved in philanthropic endeavors. In 2012, he founded the Barker Family Foundation, which works to provide educational, medical, and financial resources to those in need. He also serves on the board of directors of the California Wildlife Conservation Board, which works to protect and preserve the state's wildlife.

In his spare time, Barker enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife and two children. He is an avid sports fan, and is a vocal supporter of the Wisconsin Badgers, his alma mater. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
