Conjunto Yaguarimú is a Venezuelan musical group that has been entertaining audiences for over 25 years. Founded in Caracas, Venezuela in 1991, the group is composed of seven members: Hugo “Gonza” González on saxophone and flute, Francisco “Gordo” González on guitar, Alfredo “Alago” González on bass, Amilcar “Milo” Carreño on drums, Raul “Tata” Jiménez on percussion, Jesús “Chucho” Delgado on keyboards, and Jesús “Perro” González on vocals.

The group’s music is a unique blend of traditional Venezuelan folk music, jazz, funk, and rock. Their sound is a reflection of the diverse influences of the members of the group, and they have been credited with creating a new musical style, known as “Yaguarimú”. Conjunto Yaguarimú has released seven albums since their formation, including “Yaguarimú” (1991), “Hasta la Risa” (1995), “Salsa y Mambo” (1997), “Canto de Agua” (1999), “Canto de Tierra” (2001), “Canto de Fuego” (2003), and “Canto de Viento” (2006).

The group has toured extensively throughout Latin America, Europe, and the United States, and has performed at some of the most prestigious music festivals in the world, including the Montreal Jazz Festival, the San Francisco Jazz Festival, the New York Latin Music Festival, and the Berlin Jazz Festival. Conjunto Yaguarimú has also received numerous awards, including “Best Latin Album” at the Juno Awards, “Best Latin Band of the Year” at the Latin Grammy Awards, and “Best Latin Group” at the Latin Music Awards.
