Cold 187um, also known as Big Hutch, is an American rapper and record producer from Los Angeles, California. He is best known as the leader of the influential hip-hop group Above the Law, which he formed with other members KMG the Illustrator and Go Mack.

Cold 187um began his music career in the early 1980s as a member of the rap group Uncle Jamm's Army. He later joined Above the Law in 1988 and began producing tracks for the group's 1989 debut album, Livin’ Like Hustlers. The album was a huge success, reaching number 8 on the Billboard 200 and receiving positive reviews from critics. Cold 187um’s production work on the album helped shape the sound of West Coast hip-hop.

In the 1990s, Cold 187um continued to be an influential figure in the West Coast hip-hop scene, producing for artists such as Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, MC Ren, DJ Quik, and Eazy-E. He also released solo albums, including The Ruthless Chronicles (1995) and The Last of the Dying Breed (1996).

In addition to his music career, Cold 187um has also acted in films such as The Player’s Club and The Wash. He has also appeared in various television shows, including The People’s Choice Awards and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Cold 187um continues to stay active in the music industry. In 2018, he released the album Last of a Dying Breed, which featured guest appearances from Kurupt, Kool G Rap, and Young Noble. He is also the founder of the record label, West Coast Mafia Records.

Through his music and production work, Cold 187um has had a lasting impact on West Coast hip-hop. His influence is still felt today, with many of his tracks being sampled by modern-day rappers and producers. Cold 187um’s legacy will continue to live on.
