Christopher McDonald is an American actor who is best known for his roles in the films "Happy Gilmore," "Requiem for a Dream," and "Thelma & Louise." He was born on February 15, 1955 in New York City, to Patricia, a real estate agent, and James R. McDonald, an educator.

McDonald began his career with a role in the 1981 film, "Rich Kids," and continued to appear in a number of films and television shows throughout the 1980s. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Shooter McGavin, the villain in the 1996 comedy "Happy Gilmore," and later for his roles in "Requiem for a Dream" (2000), "Thelma & Louise" (1991), and "The Perfect Storm" (2000).
