Christoph Kramer is a German actor and comedian best known for his roles in the films “The Wave” and “Good Bye Lenin”. Born in Bonn, West Germany, in 1983, Kramer grew up in a family of actors. His father, Jürgen Kramer, was a popular stage actor, and his mother, Anja Schmieder-Kramer, was a television actress.
Kramer attended the University of Music and Dance in Cologne, where he studied acting. After graduating, he began appearing in a number of German films and television series, including “Tatort”, “Verbotene Liebe” and “Alarm für Cobra 11”. He also had a recurring role in the series “Berlin, Berlin”.
In 2008, Kramer appeared in “The Wave”, a critically acclaimed movie about a high school teacher who attempts to teach his students about fascism by staging a mock dictatorship in the classroom. The movie was a success in Germany and internationally, and Kramer won the German Film Award for Best Actor for his performance.
In 2009, Kramer starred in “Good Bye Lenin”, a comedy-drama about a family living in East Germany during the fall of the Berlin Wall. The film was a major success and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Film.
