Christiane Cohendy is a French actress and model who has made numerous appearances in both film and television. She is most well-known for her roles in the films Les Amants du Pont-Neuf, The Horseman on the Roof, and The Big Blue.

Cohendy was born in Paris, France in 1957. At an early age, she developed a love for acting and pursued it throughout her education. She attended the Conservatoire National Supérieur d’Art Dramatique, where she studied theatre and film.

Her debut film role was in the 1980 French drama Les Amants du Pont-Neuf, which earned her a César Award for Most Promising Actress. The film was also nominated for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival.

The following year, Cohendy starred in the Italian-French drama The Horseman on the Roof, for which she was nominated for a César Award for Best Actress. She then went on to appear in the 1988 French-Italian drama The Big Blue, which earned her a César Award for Best Supporting Actress.

In the 1990s, Cohendy went on to appear in a number of French films, such as The Double Life of Veronique, Monsieur Hire, and Love and Death on Long Island. She also made appearances in the television series Les Filles du Maquis and Le Femme Nikita.

In the 2000s, Cohendy continued to work in both film and television. Her notable films include the French comedy Pédale douce, the drama Ma Femme est une Actrice, and the romantic comedy April in Love. She also made appearances in the television series La Famille Bélier and The Returned.

Cohendy has also been involved in a number of charitable causes and has won several awards for her work. She is a member of the French National Order of Merit and was made an Officer of the Legion of Honor in 2014.
