Chris Turner is a prolific Australian film director and television producer. He has been involved in the production of numerous successful TV shows and movies, including The Secret Life of Us, Love My Way, and The Slap.

Turner was born in Sydney in 1974 and grew up in the inner-west suburb of Glebe. He studied drama at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and graduated with a degree in directing and writing in 1998. After graduating, he worked as a production assistant for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).

In 2000, he made his television directing debut with the ABC drama series The Secret Life of Us. The show was critically acclaimed and was nominated for numerous awards, including the Australian Film Institute (AFI) and Logie Awards.

Turner then went on to direct the feature film Noise in 2007, starring Brendan Cowell and William McInnes. The film received a limited release in Australia but was well-received by critics. In 2009, he directed The Slap, an eight-part mini-series starring Melissa George and Essie Davis. The Slap won the AFI Award for Best Television Drama Series in 2010.

In 2010, Turner directed the comedy-drama Love My Way, which starred Claudia Karvan, Dan Wyllie, and Asher Keddie. The show was a critical and ratings success, and won numerous awards, including the AACTA Award for Best Television Drama Series in 2011.

Turner has since directed several episodes of the hit series Offspring, starring Asher Keddie and Kat Stewart. He has also directed episodes of the drama series The Code and A Place to Call Home.

Turner’s films have won numerous awards and have been screened at major international film festivals. His work has been praised for its warmth, humour, and emotional depth. He is widely regarded as one of Australia’s leading television directors.
