Chona Jason is a Filipino actor and comedian who is best known for his roles in the comedy films Kulay Abo, Ang Hapis at Himagsik ni Hermano Puli and Ang Panday 2. He started his career as a stand-up comedian in the early 1970s, performing in various clubs in and around Manila. He quickly made a name for himself in the industry and was soon cast in small, supporting roles in various movies.

In the early 1980s, Chona gained recognition for his lead roles in the films Bulaklak ng City Jail and Kulay Abo. He also appeared in several singing contests and had his first album released in 1984. His performance in the movie Ang Hapis at Himagsik ni Hermano Puli earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the Metro Manila Film Festival in 1989.

In the 1990s, Chona was cast in the lead role in the movie Ang Panday 2 and earned him numerous awards and recognitions. He also appeared in the popular sitcom Mula sa Puso and was nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy Series at the PMPC Star Awards for Television in 2000.
