Cédric Zimmerlin is an accomplished French actor and director, best known for his work in theater, television, and film. Born in Paris in 1978, Zimmerlin began his acting career at the age of eighteen with the Théâtre de l’Odéon, where he appeared in a number of plays. He also performed with the National Theater of Strasbourg and the Théâtre de la Ville.

In 2003, Zimmerlin made his television debut in the French series “30°C,” and in 2005, he appeared in the film “The Beat That My Heart Skipped.” His breakout performance came in 2006, when he landed the lead role in “Them,” a psychological thriller directed by Xavier Palud. This role earned him a César Award nomination for Most Promising Actor.

In the following years, Zimmerlin continued to make a name for himself in French cinema, appearing in the films “The Girl From Monaco” (2008), “La Belle Personne” (2009), and “The Passenger” (2010). He also starred in the popular television series, “Julie Lescaut,” from 2009-2011.

In addition to his acting career, Zimmerlin is also an accomplished director. He made his directorial debut in 2011 with the short film “La Roue Tourne,” and in 2014, he directed the feature-length film, “Ce Qui Nous Lie.” In 2017, he released his second feature-length film, “The Apparition,” which was nominated for the César Award for Best New Director.

Zimmerlin’s talent has earned him numerous accolades, including a nomination for the Prix Lumières for Best Actor in 2009 and a nomination for the Prix d'Interprétation Masculine at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. He has also been nominated for the Prix Romy Schneider in 2017 and 2018.

In addition to his work in film and television, Zimmerlin has also performed in numerous stage productions in France. He has appeared in “Hamlet” at the Comédie-Française, “The Misanthrope” at the Théâtre des Abbesses, and “The Servant of Two Masters” at the Théâtre du Châ
