Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo Anthony is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Portland Trail Blazers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born on May 29, 1984, in Brooklyn, New York, Anthony is a 10-time NBA All-Star, a four-time Olympic gold medalist, and the 2012-13 NBA scoring champion.

Anthony first gained prominence as a high school player at Towson Catholic High School in Baltimore, Maryland. He was named the Baltimore Sun's Player of the Year in 2001 and was selected by the Denver Nuggets as the third overall pick of the 2003 NBA Draft. He made an immediate impact on the court, averaging 21 points per game during his rookie season.

In 2004, Anthony was named to the All-Rookie Team and was a part of the US Olympic team that won gold at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. He was also named to the All-Star Team for the 2004-05 season. After the 2008-09 season, Anthony was traded to the New York Knicks, where he quickly became the team's leader and scorer. During the 2012-13 NBA season, Anthony led the league in scoring with 28.7 points per game and was named the league's scoring champion.

In 2014, Anthony was part of the US Olympic team that won gold at the 2014 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 2016, Anthony was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he played for three seasons before being traded to the Atlanta Hawks in 2019. After being waived by the Hawks, he joined the Portland Trail Blazers in November 2019.

Throughout his career, Anthony has been an active member of the community. He founded the Carmelo Anthony Foundation, which works to provide support to disadvantaged youth.
