Brittany Nicole Kovler is an American actress and singer, best known for her portrayal of the lead in the musicals ‘The Wiz’ and ‘Hairspray’ on Broadway. She began her professional career in the theater at the age of five, and has since gone on to appear in numerous television shows and films.
Born and raised in New York City, Brittany was very much a part of the city’s vibrant theater culture from a young age. She trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the New York Film Academy, and began her professional career at the age of five, appearing in numerous off-Broadway productions.
In 2009, Brittany made her Broadway debut in the musical ‘The Wiz’, playing the lead role of Dorothy. This was followed by a role in the Tony Award-winning musical ‘Hairspray’, in which she played the lead role of Tracy Turnblad. Both performances were critically acclaimed, and earned Brittany a nomination for a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical.
Brittany has since gone on to appear in numerous television shows, including the hit show ‘Glee’. She also played a recurring role in the popular drama ‘One Life to Live’. Brittany has also made appearances in films such as ‘A Beautiful Mind’, ‘The Social Network’ and ‘The Intern’.
In addition to her acting career, Brittany is also an accomplished singer. She has released two albums, and performed in numerous concerts and musicals, both in the US and abroad.
