Brian Downey is a Canadian actor best known for his role as Leon in the hit sci-fi series, "Lexx". Born in 1949 in Toronto, Ontario, Downey began his career as a child actor in the late 1950s. His first major role came in 1968 when he was cast as the lead in the Canadian television series, "Coles Corner".

In the late 1970s, Downey landed a number of significant roles including roles in "The Changeling", "Police Academy: Mission to Moscow" and "The Dead Zone".

In the 1990s, Downey was cast in the hit sci-fi series, "Lexx". Downey played the role of Leon, a former criminal who is transformed into a robotic killing machine. He went on to appear in all four seasons of the show, and won a Gemini Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role for his performance.

In addition to his work on "Lexx", Downey has appeared in a number of other television series including "The Outer Limits", "The X-Files", "Stargate SG-1" and "The Firm". He has also made appearances in films such as "The Bone Collector" and "The Sum of All Fears".

In recent years, Downey has continued to take on a variety of roles in both film and television. He has appeared in "The Strain", "Murdoch Mysteries", "12 Monkeys" and "Big Time in Hollywood, FL".

Downey has also had a successful stage career, appearing in productions such as "The Long Christmas Dinner" and "The Importance of Being Earnest". He is currently appearing in the Broadway production of "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time".

Downey is a true Canadian icon, having had a long and successful career in both film and television. He is highly respected for his work and has been nominated for numerous awards throughout his career.
