Brett is an American actor and musician who is best known for his starring roles in films such as The Goonies, Stand By Me, and E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.
Brett was born in Los Angeles, California in 1962. He began acting at the age of twelve, appearing in small television roles. His first major role was in the 1985 hit The Goonies, in which he played the lead character Mikey Walsh. The film was a major success and established Brett as a star.
He went on to appear in the classic coming-of-age drama Stand By Me, and Steven Spielberg's sci-fi classic E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, both of which earned him critical acclaim.
