Bodil Skjånes Dugstad (born in 1892) was a Norwegian actress who achieved great success in both theatre and film. She was born in Bergen, Norway, into a family of actors. She began her theatrical career at the age of twelve, playing small roles in various plays. After studying drama in Stockholm, she returned to Norway and joined the National Theatre in Oslo.

Throughout her career, Bodil Skjånes Dugstad was known for her powerful performances. She was especially well-known for her roles in Henrik Ibsen's plays, such as "A Doll's House", "John Gabriel Borkman", and "Hedda Gabler". She was also acclaimed for her interpretations of the works of August Strindberg.

In addition to theatre, Bodil Skjånes Dugstad also achieved recognition in the film industry. She made her debut in the 1923 silent film "Dødsangst" (Fear of Death). She followed this up with roles in "Mannfolk" (Men) and "En av de beste" (One of the Best). Her most memorable role was in the 1927 film "Gymnastik i Skolen" (Physical Education in School), in which she played a teacher.

Bodil Skjånes Dugstad was also active in the radio industry. She was a regular on the Norwegian radio show "Korlåten" and often performed skits and monologues. Her most famous radio performance was in the play "Trollet i Glomdalen" (The Troll in Glomdalen).

Bodil Skjånes Dugstad was a respected figure in Norway. In 1948, she was awarded the St. Olav Medal for her service to Norway's theatre and film industries. She passed away in 1960, at the age of 68. Her legacy lives on in her many remarkable performances.
