Björn Karlsson is a Swedish actor best known for his roles in films such as The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009), The American (2010), and The Girl Who Played with Fire (2009). Born in Stockholm, Sweden, on May 28, 1983, Karlsson began his acting career in 2004 with appearances on several Swedish television shows.

Karlsson's first major role was in the Swedish crime drama series Arne Dahl in 2011, where he played the role of a police officer. This role led to other roles in Swedish films and television series, including the 2015 drama series Profeten and the 2017 thriller series Midnattssol.

In 2009, Karlsson gained international recognition for his role as Mikael Blomkvist in the Swedish-language adaptation of Stieg Larsson's best-selling novel The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. The film was an instant success, and Karlsson earned a Guldbagge Award nomination for Best Actor. Following this success, he starred in the American remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011).

In addition to his work in film and television, Karlsson has also appeared in several stage productions. In 2008, he starred in the Swedish musical Mamma Mia!, and in 2009 he starred in the play Motsols. In 2012, he appeared in the Swedish-language production of the play The Glass Menagerie at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm.

Karlsson has also appeared in several music videos, including "Långsamt avlägsna" by Swedish rock band Håkan Hellström and "Kommer tid, kommer råd" by Swedish folk-rock band First Aid Kit.

Karlsson has continued to appear in both Swedish and international films and television series, including the Netflix series Quicksand (2019). He has also appeared in several Swedish television commercials.
