Billy Karren is an American actor, screenwriter, and director whose career has spanned over four decades. He is best known for his roles in films such as The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, and The Bourne Identity.

Karren was born in 1969 in East St. Louis, Illinois. He was raised in rural Kentucky and attended Christian Brothers High School. He then pursued a degree in drama from the University of Louisville. After college, Karren moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of becoming a professional actor.

Karren's breakout role was in 1994's The Shawshank Redemption, where he played the role of prison inmate Tommy Williams. His performance earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Since then, Karren has had a steady career in both film and television. He has had roles in films such as The Green Mile, The Bourne Identity, and the Harry Potter series.
