Bhagavan Angulo is an American actor from New York City. He is best known for his roles in the Netflix documentaries Wild Wild Country and The Wolfpack. He was born on November 21, 1996, in the Bronx, New York.
Bhagavan grew up in an isolated home in the Lower East Side of Manhattan with his seven brothers and sisters, all of whom were home-schooled and rarely allowed to leave the apartment. Bhagavan's parents, Oscar and Susanne Angulo, kept them out of the public eye for fear of the outside world. Despite their isolated environment, Bhagavan and his siblings were able to find solace in their shared passion for movies.
This passion enabled Bhagavan to escape the confines of his home and find a creative outlet. He began to explore the world of filmmaking, teaching himself camera techniques and editing software. Eventually, he and his brothers made their own films, using whatever props they could find in their apartment.
In 2014, Bhagavan and his brothers were discovered by director Crystal Moselle after she happened to see them walking down the street. She was so inspired by their story that she made a feature-length documentary, The Wolfpack, which was released in 2015. The film follows Bhagavan and his brothers as they attempt to make sense of their lives, explore their newfound freedom, and discover their own identities.
In 2018, Bhagavan appeared in the Netflix documentary Wild Wild Country as one of the members of the controversial Rajneesh (Osho) cult. The documentary explores the cult’s rise and fall, and Bhagavan’s personal experience as a member.
Bhagavan continues to pursue his acting career and is currently working on a new project. He is also the co-founder of a production company called Wolfpack Productions, which focuses on creating stories that showcase the unique perspectives of young people.
