Beryl Vertue is a British television and film producer who has been producing television and film for over 30 years. She is best known as the producer of hit British comedies such as Men Behaving Badly, Coupling, and Sherlock.

Vertue was born in London in 1944 and studied law at London School of Economics. After graduating, she worked as a barrister before moving into television production in the early 1980s. Her first big break came when she produced a sitcom called Brush Strokes in 1986. The show was a success and ran for five seasons.

In the 1990s, Vertue produced a string of hit shows, including Men Behaving Badly, Coupling and Goodnight Sweetheart. During this time, she also worked on a number of films, including The Madness of King George and The English Patient.

In the 2000s, Vertue continued to produce successful television shows, including Sherlock and Made in Chelsea. She also executive produced the hit film Slumdog Millionaire and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture.

In 2012, Vertue was awarded a CBE for her services to television and film production. She continues to work in the industry today and is currently producing a new series for Sky TV called Agatha Raisin.
