Bernice Notenboom (born January 20, 1983) is a Canadian actress best known for her roles in the television series "Degrassi: The Next Generation" and "The Strain".

Notenboom was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. She attended the Vancouver Film School, where she studied acting and screenwriting. She went on to pursue a career in television and film, and made her acting debut in 2002 in a television movie called "The Collectors".

Notenboom's breakthrough role came in 2003 when she was cast as the lead in the teen drama series "Degrassi: The Next Generation". She played the role of Ashley Kerwin, a popular but troubled teenager, until 2008. During this time, she also appeared in several television films and guest-starred in other television series, including "The Twilight Zone" and "The L Word".

In 2010, Notenboom began appearing in the horror-drama series "The Strain" as Dr. Nora Martinez. She played a major role in the show for three seasons, and her performance was praised by critics.

Notenboom has been cast in several other television series, including "The Strain" and "Copper". She has also guest-starred in a variety of other TV shows, including "Supernatural", "Rookie Blue" and "The X-Files".

Notenboom has made several appearances on the big screen as well. She had a supporting role in the 2014 comedy "This is the End", starring Seth Rogen and James Franco, and appeared in the 2016 horror-thriller "The Witch".

In addition to her acting career, Notenboom is an animal rights activist. She has been an ambassador for World Animal Protection since 2014 and is a strong advocate for animal rights and environmental protection.

Notenboom currently lives in Toronto, Ontario and is married to actor Paul Sun-Hyung Lee. They have two children together.
