Benito Frattari is a popular Italian actor who has been active in the entertainment industry since the early 1980s. He is best known for his roles in films such as ‘La Vita e Bella’ (Life is Beautiful), ‘The Talented Mr. Ripley’, ‘The Bourne Identity’ and ‘The Da Vinci Code’.
Born in Rome in 1963, Frattari studied acting at the Academy of Performing Arts in Rome before making his acting debut in the early 1980s. His first television role was in the Italian television series ‘L’Isola di Adamo ed Eva’ (Adam and Eve's Island). He then made his film debut in the 1985 comedy ‘Il Gioco del Silenzio’ (The Silence Game), playing a young man who is caught up in a mysterious game.
In 1997, Frattari made his international breakthrough when he starred in the Italian-language film ‘La Vita e Bella’ (Life is Beautiful). The film was a huge success, earning international critical acclaim and multiple awards. Frattari was praised for his performance as the father, Guido Orefice.
