Barbie Boswell is an American actress best known for her roles in the Disney Channel original movie High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and the Broadway production of Kinky Boots. Born on February 11, 1986 in Los Angeles, California, Barbie began her career in theater and television at a young age.

She attended the University of Southern California and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in theater. After college, Barbie moved to New York City where she began her professional career in theater. Her first gig was in the Broadway production of Kinky Boots. She was cast as one of the Angels, a group of drag queens who helped the show’s protagonist find his way.

In 2019, Barbie was cast in the Disney Channel original movie High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. She starred as Darby, an ambitious theater student at East High School. Barbie’s performance was praised by critics and fans alike, and she quickly became a fan favorite.
