Barbara Pepper was best known for her role as the wisecracking Doris Ziffel in the television series Green Acres (1965-1971). She was also seen in films such as Lucky Cisco Kid (1940), The Great Gildersleeve (1942), and The Falcon in Hollywood (1944).

Pepper's career began with a role in the Broadway musical, Follow Thru (1929). She followed this with uncredited roles in films such as The Public Enemy (1931) and Little Caesar (1931). She also made appearances in such films as The Thin Man (1934) and The Petrified Forest (1936).

In the 1940s, Barbara Pepper was cast in a number of films, including Lucky Cisco Kid (1940), The Great Gildersleeve (1942), and The Falcon in Hollywood (1944). In the 1950s, she co-starred with Lucille Ball in the television series Here's Lucy (1968-1974).
