Baba Despina (also sometimes known as Baba Despoina) is a Greek-born actress and singer who has made a name for herself in the Greek entertainment industry. She was born in Athens on September 2, 1964, and was raised in the nearby city of Piraeus. She began her career as a singer in the early 1980s, performing in cafes and nightclubs throughout Greece.

In 1989, she made her debut on the big screen in the Greek comedy film, 'Oi Erotokritoi'. This was followed by a number of other films which gained her recognition in the Greek film industry and increased her popularity among the Greek public.

In the mid-1990s, she began appearing in television series and mini-series. She became a household name in Greece after her role in the popular series, 'Smyrneiki Diadromi', which ran from 1996 to 1998. She then went on to star in a number of other television series, such as 'Oi Neiokoi', 'Mou To Perasa' and 'Ena Oneiro I Gineka'.
