Arlete Salles is a Brazilian actress, born August 28, 1962, in Rio de Janeiro. She is best known for her roles in telenovelas, such as “Amor a Vida”, “Elas por Elas” and “Amor e Revolução”.

Salles started acting at the age of 12, when she was cast in her first TV show. She then went on to appear in several other TV shows, such as “Os Trapalhões” and “Vila Sésamo”. In the late 1980s, Salles landed her first leading role in the telenovela “Por Amor”. This was followed by a series of other leading roles in telenovelas, including “Mulheres Apaixonadas”, “Da Cor do Pecado”, “Cidadão Brasileiro”, “O Profeta” and “Eterna Magia”.

In 2004, Salles was nominated for the International Emmy Award for Best Actress, for her performance in the telenovela “O Profeta”. She was also nominated for the same award in 2011, for her performance in “Amor a Vida”.
