Antongiulio Panizzi is an Italian film director, editor, and producer. He is best known for his feature films, which have won numerous awards and have been screened at film festivals around the world.

Panizzi was born in Rome in 1972. He began his career as a film editor in the early 1990s, working on documentaries and commercials, before moving into directing. His first feature film, “The Long Road,” was released in 1997. The film earned him numerous awards, including Best Director at the 2001 Italian Film Festival.

In 2000, Panizzi released his second feature, “The Waiting Game,” which earned him the Best Director award at the Venice Film Festival and a nomination for Best Film at the European Film Awards. He then went on to direct “The Last of the Red Hot Lovers” in 2003, which won the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival.

His next two films, “The Miracle” and “The Heart of the World,” were released in 2005 and 2006 respectively. The former earned him Best Director at the San Sebastian Film Festival, while the latter earned him a nomination for Best Director at the Venice Film Festival.

In 2009, Panizzi directed his fifth feature, “The Valley of the Dead,” which was selected for the Cannes Film Festival. He then released his sixth feature, “The Girl Who Knew Too Much,” in 2011, which won Best Film at the Rome Film Festival.

In 2014, Panizzi released his seventh feature “The Italian Job,” which was nominated for Best Film at the European Film Awards. In 2016, he directed his eighth feature, “The Man From Rome,” which earned him Best Director at the Venice Film Festival.

Panizzi has also produced several films, including “The Magician” (2007), “Chinatown” (2009), and “The Queen’s Gambit” (2016). He is currently working on his ninth feature, “The Last of the Red Hot Lovers,” which is set to be released in 2021.
