Anna Moiseenko is a Russian film director and screenwriter. She was born in Voronezh, Russia and attended the Voronezh State Institute of Arts. She graduated in 2002 and began her career in television, writing and directing a number of popular television series.

In 2012, Moiseenko made her feature-film debut with the drama ‘The End of the World’, which was selected for the main competition at the Moscow International Film Festival. The film received critical acclaim and won numerous awards, including the Special Jury Prize at the Kinotavr Film Festival in Sochi.

In the following years, Moiseenko directed several documentary films, which were highly acclaimed and screened at numerous international festivals. In 2018, she directed the dark comedy ‘The Elephant and the Butterfly’, which was selected for the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival and won the FIPRESCI Prize.
