Angela Scanlon is an Irish television presenter, journalist, and model. She is best known for presenting BBC's robot wars and for co-presenting The One Show alongside Matt Baker.

Scanlon was born in Newry, County Down, Northern Ireland, in 1983. She attended the University of Ulster, graduating with a degree in Media Studies and Psychology. She began her career as a model, appearing in campaigns for clients such as L’Oreal, Vodafone, and Marks & Spencer.

In 2011, Scanlon moved to London to pursue a career in television. She began her television career as a presenter on the Irish music channel, RTE2. She then joined the BBC, presenting the popular children’s show, The Pets Factor.

In 2014, Scanlon was chosen to co-present The One Show alongside Matt Baker. She quickly became a fan favorite, earning critical acclaim for her wit and bubbly personality. She left the show in 2019 to focus on other projects.

In 2016, Scanlon presented BBC Two’s Robot Wars. She was praised for her ability to make the show accessible to a wide audience. The show was a success, and was recommissioned for a second series in 2017.
