Angela K. Thomas is an American actress and singer, best known for her roles on Broadway, television, and film. Born in 1981, in New Jersey, Thomas began performing at an early age, singing in church and taking dance classes. She attended Rutgers University, where she earned a degree in theater and began appearing in off-Broadway plays.
In 2005, Thomas made her Broadway debut in the revival of “The Color Purple”, where she played the role of Celie. She followed that up with roles in “Rent”, “Hairspray”, and “The Book of Mormon”.
