Angela K. Thomas is an American actress and singer, best known for her roles on Broadway, television, and film. Born in 1981, in New Jersey, Thomas began performing at an early age, singing in church and taking dance classes. She attended Rutgers University, where she earned a degree in theater and began appearing in off-Broadway plays.

In 2005, Thomas made her Broadway debut in the revival of “The Color Purple”, where she played the role of Celie. She followed that up with roles in “Rent”, “Hairspray”, and “The Book of Mormon”. Her performance in “Hairspray” earned her a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical.

In addition to her stage work, Thomas has also worked in television and film. She had a recurring role on the HBO series “The Deuce” and appeared in the films “The Butler” and “Hail, Caesar!” She also had a role in the television movie “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks”, and will be appearing in the upcoming Netflix series “I Am Not Okay With This”.

In addition to her acting career, Thomas is also an accomplished singer. She has released two studio albums, “Angela K Thomas” and “Far From Home”. She has also released several singles and has been featured on various compilation albums.
