BIO

Angela Christlieb is an award-winning independent film director, producer, and screenwriter. She was born in 1974 in Germany and moved to the United States at the age of 10. After completing her studies in film and television production in 1997, she started her career as a freelance director and editor.

Christlieb's first feature film, Skin Deep, premiered at the 2003 Slamdance Film Festival and won the Jury Grand Prize. This success propelled her into the international spotlight and opened many doors for her. She has since directed and produced many award-winning short films and documentaries. Her work has been featured in festivals all over the world, including the Cannes Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival.

Christlieb's films focus on topics such as family, identity, and humanity. She has a unique visual style and often uses non-traditional elements to tell her stories. In 2007, she released her second feature film, The Most Fun You Can Have Dying, which won several awards and was nominated for Best Picture at the Australian Academy Awards.

In 2010, Christlieb directed and produced her third feature film, The War Within, which was nominated for a Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival. The War Within was also the first feature film to be shot in 4K resolution and won the Best Feature Award at the Newport Beach Film Festival.

Christlieb has also directed and produced numerous television series and documentaries, including the critically acclaimed series The Berlin Wall: A New Generation. In 2018, she directed an episode of the award-winning television series The Handmaid's Tale.

Christlieb is an active member of the independent filmmaking community and is passionate about telling stories that inspire and challenge audiences. She is currently developing several feature films and television series as well as a podcast series.
