Andrei Runcanu is a Romanian actor, best known for his roles in films such as The Red Line and The Whistleblower. He was born on March 11, 1970 in Bucharest, Romania.

Runcanu studied at the National University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest, graduating in 1995. After graduation, he quickly found acting roles in both theatre and film. His first big break came in 1998, when he appeared in the critically acclaimed film, The Red Line. The film was a box office success and catapulted Runcanu to fame.

Since then, Runcanu has gone on to star in numerous films and television shows, such as The Whistleblower (2001), The Way Out (2004), The Return (2005), and October 1 (2009). He has also appeared in popular Romanian television series such as The Cliffs, The Forest, and The Righteous.

Runcanu has earned numerous accolades for his acting work. He won the Best Actor award at the Romanian Movie Awards in 2000 for his performance in The Red Line. He was also nominated for Best Actor at the Romanian Movie Awards in 2001 for his performance in The Whistleblower.

In addition to his acting career, Runcanu has also done some directing. He directed the short film A Game of Chess in 2002, and directed and wrote the feature film, The Dreamers, in 2007.

In his personal life, Runcanu is married to fellow Romanian actress, Andreea Diaconu. The couple have two children together.
