Andreas Schmidt-Schaller is a German actor who is best known for his roles in the television series SOKO Leipzig and the film The Counterfeiters. He has also had roles in films such as The Monuments Men, The Book Thief, and The Red Baron.

Born in Berlin in 1968, Schmidt-Schaller had an interest in acting from an early age. He studied at the renowned Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin and graduated in 1993. His first on-screen roles were in the television series Berlinger and Tatort in 1996.

In the early 2000s, Schmidt-Schaller began to make a name for himself in German television. He had a recurring role in the series SOKO Leipzig from 2003 to 2011. His performance earned him an Adolf Grimme Award in 2010. He also starred in the popular German television series Der Alte, playing the role of Commissioner Paul Lindner from 2011 to 2014.
