András Szarvas is a beloved Hungarian actor who has been in the entertainment industry for over four decades. Born in Budapest, Hungary on October 19, 1959, he has built an impressive filmography that has earned him numerous awards and accolades.

Szarvas began his career in 1980, appearing in the Hungarian television series, Kísérleti Jelenetek, which gave him his first taste of fame. From there, he moved on to a number of other television series and films, including A Kis Herceg (The Little Prince), and Igazságügyi Szakértő (Forensic Expert). In 1987, he appeared in the first Hungarian feature-length film, The Red and the White, which earned him a nomination for Best Actor at the Hungarian Film Week.

Szarvas' rise to international fame came in 1995, when he starred in the critically acclaimed Hungarian film Kontroll, which won the Best Film award at the Cannes Film Festival. After that, he went on to star in many more films, including the romantic comedy A Kisvárosi Lány (The Small Town Girl), the drama A Föld Utolsó Napjai (The Last Days of Earth), and the fantasy adventure La Femme de l’Ombre (Shadow Woman).

In addition to his film work, Szarvas has been active in the stage since 1982. He has appeared in the Hungarian National Theatre, the Budapest Operetta and Musical Theatre, and the Jászai Mari Theatre. He has also worked in television, playing the lead role in the Hungarian drama series A Közellenség (The Outlaw).

Szarvas has received numerous awards throughout his career, including the Hungarian Film Critics Award in 1999 and the Kossuth Prize in 2002. He was also awarded the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary in 1995.
