Amir Escandari is an Iranian-American director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his work on films such as The Wrestler, The Wrestler 2, and The Wrestler 3.

Amir was born in Tehran, Iran in 1975 and raised in a middle-class family. His father was a businessman, and his mother was a homemaker. As a child, Amir was highly creative, and found himself drawn to the arts. He studied at the Tehran Art School, where he developed a passion for filmmaking.
