Alfonse D'Amato is a well-known American actor, director, producer, and writer who has been in the entertainment industry since the early 1980s. He is best known for his roles in some of the most iconic films of the 1990s including Out of Sight, The Usual Suspects, and Donnie Brasco.

Born in New York City in 1958, D'Amato studied acting at the High School of Performing Arts and then at the Lee Strasberg Institute. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles and began his career in television. He started out with small roles in shows such as Hill Street Blues, Cheers, and Quantum Leap.

In the early 1990s, D'Amato made his big screen debut with a role in the film Out of Sight. He followed this up with roles in The Usual Suspects, Donnie Brasco, and Analyze This. He also appeared in the Academy Award-winning film, The Aviator, and the blockbuster, Mission Impossible: III.

D'Amato also wrote and directed two movies, the independent film, In the Blink of an Eye (1996), and the romantic comedy, The Big Bounce (2004). He also wrote and directed the television movie, The Huntress (2000).

In addition to his work in film and television, D'Amato has had numerous stage roles. He appeared on Broadway in productions of The Odd Couple, The Price, and Death of a Salesman. He has also appeared in regional theater productions throughout the United States.

In recent years, D'Amato has continued to appear on television and in the occasional movie. He has appeared in shows such as The Good Wife, Law & Order: SVU, Blue Bloods, and Madam Secretary. He has also been in a few films, including The Cobbler and The Irishman.
