Alfons Rodriguez is a renowned film and television director known for his work on "New Girl," "2 Broke Girls," "Suburgatory" and "Man Up!" He has also directed episodes of "The Office," "The Mindy Project" and "Modern Family."

Rodriguez was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and grew up in Miami, Florida. He was always interested in film and television, and in 1994 he enrolled at the University of Southern California's School of Cinema-Television. While at USC, he wrote and directed several student films, including "The Last Day of Summer," which won the Grand Jury Prize at the 1997 Florida Film Festival.

After graduating from USC in 1998, Rodriguez began his career in television directing music videos and commercials. He then went on to direct episodes for several popular television series, including "The Office," "The Mindy Project" and "Modern Family." He has also directed feature films, including "Man Up!" and "Suburgatory."

In addition to his film and television work, Rodriguez has directed music videos for artists such as Christina Aguilera, Avril Lavigne and Gwen Stefani. He has also directed theater productions, including "The Miracle Worker," and served as a consultant for the television series "Glee."

Rodriguez has been recognized for his work, winning the Directors Guild of America’s Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Commercials in 2008 and 2009. He has also been nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for his work on "New Girl" and "2 Broke Girls."

Rodriguez is an active member of the Directors Guild of America, and a frequent speaker at film festivals and seminars. He is also the founder of the Miami Film Institute, which provides film education and workshops to aspiring filmmakers.
