Alexander Ayodele is an American actor and filmmaker from New York City. He is best known for his roles in films and television series such as The Boys from Brazil, The Sopranos, The Wire, and the award-winning short film, Handsome and the Beast.

Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1977, Alexander Ayodele grew up in a tight-knit Nigerian-American family. He was exposed to the vibrant culture of his homeland early on, particularly the Yoruba language, which he speaks fluently.

Ayodele attended LaGuardia High School of Music & Art in Manhattan, where he honed his skills as an actor. After high school, Ayodele attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. After graduating, he went on to appear in numerous stage productions, including roles in The Boys from Brazil, The Sopranos, The Wire, and the award-winning short film, Handsome and the Beast.

Ayodele's film credits include roles in She's Gotta Have It, The Great Debaters, and the Academy Award-nominated Beasts of the Southern Wild. On television, he has guest-starred on shows such as Law & Order: SVU, Law & Order: CI, and ER. He has also appeared in music videos for artists such as Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, and Maxwell.

Ayodele has worked behind the camera as well, directing a number of short films and music videos. He is also a writer, having penned a screenplay for the short film, Handsome and the Beast.

In addition to his acting work, Ayodele is an active philanthropist. He is a board member of the African American Theater Alliance, and a member of the Screen Actors Guild. He is also a mentor for the Brooklyn-based youth organization, Reel Works Teen Filmmaking.
