Alejo Moreno is a Spanish filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer born in Seville in 1984. Before turning to directing, he worked as a film critic for Spain’s public television program Días de Cine.
He is known for creating small, bold films through his own label, Alejo Moreno Produce, often exploring themes related to power, justice, and the individual’s place within modern institutions.
His debut feature Diana (2018) which he wrote, directed, and produced is a psychological thriller that examines power dynamics and intimacy. His later work Hechos Probados investigates the Spanish tax system and the conflict between state authority and citizens’ rights, reflecting his ongoing interest in socially engaged storytelling.
